Scream VI
In a city of millions, no one hears you scream.
I'll admit that its only in recent years have I become a Scream fan. Seeing how the franchise has evolved since the 90s to include more modern points of view and poking fun at its own tropes is what makes it truly unique. Seeing our final girl grow from sweet girl-next-door to Sidney 'of course I have a gun' Prescott was a highlight of my 2022.
The latest installment sees Sam and Tara, survivors of the previous movie, head to New York, in an attempt to escape the trauma of their run in with Ghostface. However, as any avid Scream fan knows, leaving Woodsboro is no mean feat.
Scream 6 sees the return of perhaps our newest inductee to the Scream Queen roster, Jenna Ortega, along with self-professed 'legacy characters', namely the fearless, if slightly opportunistic, reporter, Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox). While I did miss the presence Neve Campbell's Sidney, I still really enjoyed this film and the cast does a good job of keeping you entertained despite her absence. Can our survivors finally leave Woodsboro behind? And who is behind the mask this time round?
