Review:

This one is for my one and only true love - Princess Peach. Need I say more? It’s become clear in interviews and the film itself that Jack Black is scene stealing in his performance as Bowser, somehow managing to be a compelling villain and lovestruck romantic for Peaches all at once. With a cast including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peaches and Charlie Day as Luigi, you’d think it’d be hard to steal the limelight, but somehow, Jack Black does it.

It’s a simple story of the cat-and-mouse between Mario and Bowser as the Italian-American plumber tries to stop Bowser’s evil plans to take over the world. The film’s simpleness allows it to focus on both animation and lively voice acting, which makes it nostalgic watch, even if you feel to old for Mario, I can assure you, you’ll have fun. Beyond that, this Super Mario film is a charming experience that’ll be sure to transport you back to your childhood of playing on your Nintendo, where the only worries you had was trying to save a princess from the Koopa clutches of evil. Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, I love you, oh…
