Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Once more with feeling.
In this third Guardians adventure, our heroes deal with the fallout of Infinity War, and the loss of their version of absolute badass Gamora (Zoe Saldana). It also delves into the past of the Guardians' fuzziest member, Rocket (Bradley Cooper), to provide its next villain in the form of The High Evolutionary, incredibly portrayed by Chukwudi Iwuji (and who would pass up such an opportunity to give us baby Rocket, because there's simply not enough 'baby' versions of beloved characters out in pop culture at the minute).
Many moons ago, when I first heard about the fact that a talking raccoon and sentient tree were part of a new MCU team gracing our screens, I was doubtful that such a concept would even work. However, the Guardians provide some of the most heartwarming and heart-wrenching moments in the franchise, balanced with their distinct brand of humour we have seen throughout their run on the big screen. After 8 years, it's an emotional sendoff to a group of such loveable misfits. Of course, Awesome Mix Vol. 3 did in fact deliver and will subsequently become part of my personality for a few weeks.
