Review:

No doubt many of you will have seen the first Rush Hour. Did you like it? If you did, you’ll enjoy this sequel. If you didn’t, why not?!!! But you may redeem yourself by going to watch the sequel. Simply because it’s one of those film you should watch.

OK, it’s no masterpiece, and isn’t a world apart from the first one. But it is another chance to see Jackie Chan show off his sublime skills, along with his crazy stunts - you must know by now that he does his own stunts! This time we find Tucker on vacation in Hong Kong, while Chan is still working on his latest case, investigating an explosion at an U.S. Embassy building. Tucker is less than happy with Chan, and insists he show him the sights of Hong Kong, in search of some fun. But Chan keeps dragging him along to his stakeouts, as he chases the local Triad boss, Ricky Tan (John Lone).

The amount of martial arts action may be a little disappointing for die-hard fans, but there is a highly entertaining, excellently choreographed sequences in a massage parlour. As the duo chase Ricky Tan around Hong Kong, they are continually obstructed by his Number 2, Hu-Li, played by Zhang Ziyi (the young girl from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). They also encounter lsabella Molina (Roselyn Sanchez) an undercover agent for the U.S. police – or so she says…Eventually the chase leads to the opening ceremony of a Las Vegas casino, and a fine action-packed ending. And of course, the out-takes during the end credits are always a good laugh to watch. Rush Hour 2 isn’t a deep or though-provoking film, but it’s far from a waste of time. Go see it!
