Mean Girls (2024)

You’ve seen the chick flick that became one of the most iconic films of our time. But, you’ve never seen it like this. (Side note, if you didn’t catch our showing of the original in Welcome Week, you might have some catching up to do). This musical reboot of the 2000s classic promises extravagant dance numbers and updated wardrobes while still staying true to the sass and relatability of the original. The cast introduces new faces to classic characters, including Broadway singer Renee Rapp, along with some cameos from the original, like Tina Fey and Tim Meadows. As a fan of the musical soundtrack (though I confess I haven’t been able to catch the stage show yet), AND the original of course, I for one am so excited for this. I can’t wait to see the cinematic reimagining of songs like Sexy and of course the powerhouse that is World Burn! You just have to come and see it… it’s like, the rules of feminism!
