Review:

Recently rebooted as a TV series, go back to a classic that started a whole franchise…

The Chinese consul’s daughter is kidnapped, so Han puts his best man (Jackie Chan, obviously) on the case. The FBI are in charge of the investigation, so want someone to keep Detective Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan – Kung Fu Panda) out of the way while they find the girl. Cue loud-mouth LAPD detective James Carter (Chris Tucker – Fifth Element) who has just singlehandedly caused two cops to be shot (one lost a finger!), and half a city block to be destroyed; making his captain more than happy to give him this special assignment!) However, Lee is not easily side-tracked, and even being handcuffed to a steering wheel won’t stop his investigation…

This is a classic culture clash comedy-action film, with Jackie Chan performing all his own stunts and providing many ‘fish out of water’ laughs, while Chris Tucker fires off his usual fast-talking, high pitched quips.
