Lisa Frankenstein
If you can't meet your perfect boyfriend... make him.
Following the tragic death of her mother, Lisa (Newton) spends her time in the local cemetery and becomes enamoured with one particular corpse. When a supernatural lightning strike brings him to life the pair embark on an adventure-stroke-killing-spree around the town. And they say romance is dead… (well, in this case…)
Comedy horror seems to be Kathryn Newton's thing in recent times with Freaky and Ant-Man: Quantumania (which was just so horrible, I can't help but laugh), and I think she really shines here. And let's not forget Cole Sprouse, who stars as the zombified 1800s ‘heartthrob’, who looks significantly better after a good wash.
Described as a ‘coming of rage story’, and written by the mind behind cult classic Jennifer's Body, Lisa Frankenstein is the epitome of ‘I can fix him’ – with ‘him’ being the reanimated corpse of a Victorian guy.
