Review:

Just under 30 years after the original Twister hit theatres, it’s back with a sequel, and an extra ‘s’ added to its title. Don’t worry if you haven’t seen the original, though: Twisters is a standalone, following ex-storm-chaser Kate (Daisy Edgar-Jones; Normal People) as she is recruited by an old friend (Anthony Ramos; Hamilton) to help collect vital data on tornadoes to help develop early-warning systems. Along the way, she encounters various other storm chasers, including YouTube sensation and tornado influencer Tyler Owens (Glen Powell (in a cowboy hat); Anyone But You). As a never-before-seen wave of tornadoes sweeps across Oklahoma, leaving chaos in its wake, Kate and Tyler must work together to find some way to mitigate the destruction. There are some movies that were made to be seen on the big screen, and Twisters is absolutely one of them – it’s a sheer adrenaline rush of a movie. The tornadoes (and there are a lot of them, but it is called Twisters) are both awe-inspiring and terrifying, and every one will have you on the edge of your seat. It’s pure summer blockbuster fun, and well worth catching in the cinema. So, to quote Glen Powell (in his cowboy hat): if you feel it, chase it!
