MaXXXine

Welcome to the much-anticipated third instalment of X- Ti West’s horror trilogy. This continues onwards from the first instalment, X (2022), as we witness Maxine (Mia Goth) attempting to veer her career from acting in adult films to acting in commercial movies. After her traumatising experience, which is explored in X, Maxine struggles to forgive and forget.

The past isn’t ready to leave her behind either, as a private detective (Kevin Bacon) relentlessly blackmails her. At the same time, a masked serial killer is on the loose in Hollywood, California, and he seems to have something against her. Regardless, Maxine refuses to let go of her composure and lands a role in an upcoming horror film, “The Puritan II”.

Gradually, however, all these mysteries catch up to her and she must confront her past if she wants to achieve her lifelong dream of being a star. MaXXXine is filled with humour, terror and a strange sense of catharsis, that ties together the X trilogy in a neatly tied knot.
