Review:

A Quiet Place: Day One follows Sam (Lupita Nyong'o), a pessimistic terminally ill cancer patient, and her cat, Frodo, as they navigate the apocalypse shown in the previous films from ground zero. She forms an unlikely friendship with Eric (Joseph Quinn), an English law student, after he is too fragile to venture out on his own and look for safety. This film was my favourite of the series as it really showcases the panic and unknowing when the unimaginable happens. You really connect with the main characters due to the great performances from Nyong’o and Quinn who provide the audience with an emotional and sweet story, alongside the expected jumpscares and thrills. I did spend the majority of this film fretting about Frodo as if I was with my greedy cat (shout out Simba), he would've started meowing if he got the slightest bit hungry and got us killed.
