Review:

Deadpool & Wolverine is the crossover that many X-Men fans have been waiting for, and it was indeed worth the wait. This movie watches the two mutants team up to face the Time Variance Authority (The TVA - introduced in the Marvel show Loki), working to save their timelines from not one, but two British villains. This stacked cast not only brings star power to this superhero movie but easily adds to that classic Deadpool raunchy comedy. Some may say that the multiple cameos in this movie is flop-era marvel trying a desperate fan-service approach, but I’d argue that, paired with Deadpool’s fourth wall breaks, they make for an energised audience. Hugh Jackman finally sporting that classic yellow super-suit served corny yet fierce, his catty helmet the cherry on top. The retro comic books were really brought to life in Jackman’s one last performance as The Wolverine (unless Disney do in fact have him playing this role until 90), and it wouldn’t be complete without him being oiled up and shirtless at least once. This film also attempts to tie up any loose ends left by the countless reboots we’ve received over the years, allowing for long-time Marvel fans to absolutely nerd out over the easter eggs, references, and homages paid. Finally, the highlight of this film for me was whenever Channing Tatum delivered a line, proving great casting.
