I Saw The TV Glow
Owen (Justice Smith; child: Ian Foreman) has always felt lonely, strange and out of place. In the 7th grade, he finds solace in Maddy (Brigette Lundy-Paine), a 9th grader who is obsessed with this sci-fi action tv-show “The Pink Opaque”. Soon enough, Owen also starts watching the show and finds comfort in it - until the TV starts to glow. Until it all feels a bit too real, and life starts feeling wonky and out of sorts. He’s not alone though, because Maddy shares the experience.
I Saw the TV Glow is like a nephew of The Truman Show—more modern, purple, and unsettling. This film is best seen in the dead of the night with hot salty popcorn, or at theWarwick Student Cinema this autumn with some fresh snacks from the vending machine!
