After using psychedelics, young adult Elliot (Stella) meets her older self (Plaza) in this new comedy drama. Releasing this September, the film is likely to be a mix of hard-hitting moments and belly-aching laughter. The philosophy of ageing is not a light topic, but Aubrey Plaza’s deadpan delivery and characteristic charm is sure to fuse the gap between drama and comedy. With impressive reviews from critics, My Old Ass surely feels like a thought-provoking comedy classic, and is definitely a film to look forward to.
