Holocaust Memorial Week Showing: Son Of Saul
|
This is a special Wednesday screening in collaboration with Warwick Jewish Society for Holocaust Memorial Week. Set in 1944 Auschwitz, Saul is a Sonderkommando — a prisoner of the Nazi camp forced to clean up the gas chambers after their use, at threat of their own death. Whilst working, he comes across the body of a boy who he wishes to give a proper burial. Son of Saul serves as a strong reminder of the tragedies of World War II inflicted at the hands of Nazi soldiers, almost exactly 80 years after Auschwitz was liberated. Whilst this isn't an easy watch, it's an important one.
