Review:

Having endured his Twelve Labours, the demigod Hercules (Dwayne Johnson) is now working as a sword-for-hire, and he finds his skills tested when he is sought out by the King of Thrace (John Hurt) to aid in taking on a tyrannical warlord.

This film is what you’d expect – an amusing romp through Ancient Greece, focusing on the legend of our hero in a very self-aware manner. It’s fun - a different take on the story that works well and doesn’t take itself too seriously. It's full of action sequences on an epic scale, with some impressive choreography and a decent amount of tongue-in-cheek humour, topped off with a good cast headed by the ever-likable Johnson; a perfect fit for the main role. If you’re after a good, old-fashioned adventure movie, and a big slice of entertainment, then Hercules is perfect for you.
