Review:

Definitely one of the greatest "musical" films ever made. Jake and Elwood Blues (the late great Joe Belusci, and Dan Ackroyd) are on a mission from God to save the orphanage which they grew up in by paying $50,000 in back taxes: Jake is just out of prison, and these unlikely do-gooders have only a week to raise the cash.

Helped by numerous musical guest stars (John Lee Hooker and Aretha Franklin to name but two) and meeting some non-musical guests (see Steven Spielberg as the County Clerk!), they put on a concert to raise the money: it also lands them in quite a lot of trouble (with the police and a Country & Western Band). Explosive fun, with this duo, err.., annoying most people they meet (especially the local Nazis), the results being a rocket-powered telephone box, a demolished building, and the longest car chase in a movie, ever!

Brilliant music ('Respect', 'Everybody Needs Somebody', 'Minnie the Moocher' and many many more), an easy-to-follow storyline, more guests than 'Wayne's World' I & II put together and impressive special effects (Big Bangs!) make this a movie to remember. Miss it and be miffed!
