A wonderful film full of beautiful panoramas of Scotland, Celtic music and much kilt-twirling action is the setting for the story of Rob Roy (Neeson). After a business deal falls through for our dashing Rob , an excellently cunning pair of villains (Roth and Brian Cox) aim to help relieve him of his burden of cash. It doesn't take long for the film to dissolve into a story of honour and soon Roy is involved in the rescue of Bonnie Scotland and in saving his loving wife Mary (Lange) from the invading English.
In this adventure he is aided by his younger brother Alistair (Brian McCardie) and his brothers' cow-pat eating friend Alan (Stoltz). The film has plenty of action if a few too many knobbly knees for my liking, (ooer - Ed) but the story and action sequences certainly keep your attention on the screen.
This film is full Celtic history and is well worth watching if only for the beautiful views and excellent film score.
