Review:

Meet Dug (Eddie Redmayne – Les Miserables). He and his tribe lead a pretty easy-going existence: wake up, run around in furs, occasionally some hunting. But Lord Nooth (Tom Hiddleston - Thor) has his mind set on forcibly evicting them from their valley so he can mine it for ore, and Dug’s tribe’s spears are no match for his colonizing troops on bronze-armoured mammoths! Desperate to save his home, the only idea Dug can come up with is a winner-takes-all match in this new game he’s just heard of… foot-ball?

Directed by Nick Park, the creator of Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Chicken Run, this is a charming vehicle for a number of one-liners, gags, visual humour and a dash of slapstick that he delivers so well! Tom Hiddleston really relishes his role and throws his all into a smarmy Gallic accent for the villain of the piece. Joined by an eclectic all-star cast, with voices from Maisie Williams, Timothy Spall, Richard Ayoade, Rob Brydon and Nick Park himself, in parts large and small, this really is one to watch.
