DM Meeting @ 2010-11-03 18:10:00
Minutes of the DM Meeting held on Wednesday 3rd November at 6:10pm
Location: 'The Bar', Rootes Social Building
Present: Robert Gardner, Fergus Cooper, George Marshall & James McLachlan
In attendance: Andrew Maddison
1. Welcome and Apologies
Rob welcomed all those present to the fifth DM Meeting of the Term.
Apologies for absence were received from: Rachel Crofts, Mike Joy, Veronika Lipinska, Edward McCutcheon, Owen Rye & Natalie Tyldesley.
2. Rotas
The rotas were filled for week 5 and the next qualified DM slot available is for Thursday of week 6.
Trainees are encouraged to sign up to more shows as there are plenty available from week 6 onwards.
3. Internet on the Concourse
Andrew has tested the ports again, immediately prior to the meeting and neither of those from the pair we set up at are accessible at present. However, the right port of the pair approximately five metres left (closer to Physics) of 'ours', is set-up as we'd requested ours to be. Tests to be conducted later in the week.
(CDM: This port has now been tested and is our new 'in use' port. The long yellow network cable should be plugged into the right of these two ports and into the master till's switch. We nolonger need to access the roof space on the concourse. Andrew will look into getting this access moved across to one of our two ports but the new method is much better than the roof!)
4. Banking Bags
The bank has asked that we cease to use night-safe boxes and move across instead to the banking bags that the union use. The takings for the previous night's show were used to demonstrate how to complete these to all those present at the meeting.
Rob will send out a separate email and create a wiki page for how this is to be filled in. Please read these carefully and keep them accessible in your inbox if you're unsure!!!
5. AOB
i) DMs MUST put out the KPMG vertical banner at all screenings.
ii) James declined to submit any AOB.
iii) Rob reminded all those present that DMs need to continue to check how many shows Stewards have done in order to add full Crew and Steward status where appropriate. James has been checking these recently and several DMs have not been updating this as they should be. Please don't forget!
6. Trainee DMs
The progress of current Trainee DMs was discussed. Liam is ready for a qualification so long as his show on the night (Four Lions) goes well. Provisionally set the qualification for the 6:30pm screening of Prince of Persia on Friday of Week 6, (CDM: This has now been confirmed!) as all those present are available for that slot.
Further possibilities for new DMs were also discussed - Rob will contact several of the Stewards accordingly.
The meeting was adjourned at 6.47pm.
