DM Meeting @ 2011-02-02 18:10:00

1. Welcome and apologies
Rob welcomed all those present to the fourth DM Meeting of Spring Term 2011.
Apologies for absence were received from Veronika Lipinska, Mike Joy, Owen Rye and Natalie Tyldesley.
2. Rotas
The rotas were filled for both qualified and trainee DMs across week 5.
3. Qualification
Harry's qualification is this Friday at the 6:30pm screening of "Let Me In". Rob, Fergus, George, James, Liam and Owen should be available to set-up (L3 is available from 5pm), with Harry to arrive at 5:45pm.
4. Clothing whilst DMing
Rob has received a couple of comments about Trainee DMs not wearing WSC clothing whilst DMing their shows. This must be enforced by their qualified DMs - utilising the spare clothing in the cupboard for the duration of the show if necessary. Wearing WSC clothing makes DMs stand out as being responsible at shows and is part of our professionalism.
5. Cashing-up
In one of Fergus' recent meetings with the Union, it was revealed that the main cost of WSC to the Union is in the form of transaction costs. Fergus proposes that we try to appease the Union by depositing fewer transactions at the night safe. The notion of only depositing money once at least £200 had been received was discussed briefly, but it was subsequently decided that we shall trial the following system for double screenings, commencing with Machete on Friday week 6:
* Early screening DMs cash-up, but only fill out a single page of banking slips, rather than the additional two copies.
* Early screening DMs then leave this with the takings and till receipts in a night-safe box in the DM locker.
* Late screening DMs cash-up for their own show and add on/in the early show, completing all the details for the night as a whole and submitting the total takings in one deposit bag at the night safe.
This shall be confirmed at the DM Meeting next week.
6. AOB
* The usual curry order shall take place on Saturday evening prior to the Midnight screening of Saw. The order will be placed at 9pm.
* There will also be a port and cheese session before this, likely to take place from around 7:30pm. Please contact Matt Breeze (Chief Projectionist) for further details.
