1. Welcome and Apologies
Everyone was welcomed and it was mentioned that Tim D had apologised because he may be late.
2. Show Reports
The show reports were discussed - including the AllNighters (which generally went well...)
3. Technical Officer’s Report
a. C/O shutter on P1 was repaired after the 1st AllNighter, but we
require some thread lock – Alex to order - before we are happy
that it will not fall apart at any point, though still not certain
that this is a permanent fix.
b. SU can acquire a 16 amp CEEform socket for £100, this can be used
at all Outdoor Screenings and has a payback time of 3 years. We
need to request this promptish due to the union taking so long to
do anything.
4. Training – including discussion on trainee progress
a. Yolanda’s AT2 was conducted.
b. During Yolanda’s AT2 one of the trailers snapped (it was held
together by masking tape?). It has been fixed.
c. Alex, Fergus and Tim G are free this weekend (14th May) to do a
snaps test. This has been offered to Yeng – with the view that she
can do her qualification on the early showing of Paul (apologies
to Rachel who would have to be bumped off).
d. Nikita, Fergus, Owen, Rachel, Tim G and Alex are free on weekend
of 21st May for a Snaps test. This has been offered to Kath.
e. Neil hasn’t done much making-up – so he is not to sign up to
Friday lates or Tuesdays – unless he can make it up.
5. Projection Procedure Changes
a. All yellow edge (end of reel) marker tape should be removed and
replaced with chinagraph where appropriate (important for
platterisation and 6000s).
6. Time and Date of next meeting
a. The Next meeting will be on Monday 16/5/11 at 6:10 in SSL.
7. AOB’s
a. During any snap situation/ reversed soundtrack – the Qproj should
lace quickly and accurately. The aim to get it back on screen as
quickly as possible whilst being certain to a reasonable degree
that it will play.
b. No one has authority over a Qproj signed-up to a show – this is so
tproj have a clear chain of command – and don’t get conflicting
requests (as this can be very dangerous in the proj box). That
said other Qproj may help out when/if they are requested.
c. We will request the DM committee to review their snaps/down
procedure and to discuss joint Proj/DMs
d. It should also be noted that we should aim to have no Fuck-Ups on
any shows.
e. Election in L3 at 7:30
f. The Tuesday proj of Kings Speech is asked not to replace the
Tangled trailer with another trailer due to the fact that 5
trailers is too many!
8. Rota Sign-ups
a. Fergus may be able to project The King’s Speech on Tuesday 10/5/11.
b. Fergus and Max H signed up to project and tproj respectively 28
Days Later on Saturday 14/5/11.
c. Neil A signed up to tproj the late showing of Paul on Friday
20/5/11.
