4. Qualification

Pierre's DM qualification show has been scheduled for Thursday Week 4 ( Pulp Fiction).

5. AOB

(i) Publicity: posting over half of the noticeboards outside L3 is not working as intended; other societies are preferentially posting over our publicity to make their publicity more striking. As the alternative approach of posting over the whole of the noticeboards is not favoured, though, efforts will be made to move alien publicity from the WSC half to the other half and to apply a new coat of A2 posters only when necessary. Martin suggested posting two columns of A2 schedules every day, which might be trialled at some point this term. The possibility of having WSC noticeboards outside L3 and around the University resurfaced, but that is a general publicity issue.

(ii) Busy shows: there have been three shutdowns in a week, and Rachel expressed her concerns that we could be deterring people from returning if this continues. However, selling memberships at these shows took longer than normal due to various problems with the Union system, and there was nothing that could be done about this. For very busy shows, Rob suggested that the projectionist could start the ads at 35-past, but Rachel is keen to start at half-past to encourage people to arrive earlier. As a guide, the projectionist should be ready to let people in by ten-past, and the DM should be ready to sell tickets by this time if a busy show is expected.
