1. Welcome and Apologies for Absence

2. Rotas
Projectionists needed for Tuesday (The Departed), Saturday (The Shining), Sunday Late (The Master)
3. Technical Officer’s Report
Rectifiers are operational, but still a little tender, so be careful around the wires. These will be fixed imminently.
P&D have emailed informing that we need our own set of cables for the harddrives as they will no longer be sending them. They can provide them if required. Georgie will email to find out how much they would cost to see if it’s worth investing in a spare set.
Length of ads & trailers is getting excessive. Georgie will find out if this is a permanent change and if the contract allows this.
4. Training
Jethro needs an ATS1 – this was planned for Wednesday 3pm, but L3 is booked out by Chemistry from 1-6pm. His ATS will be postponed until, provisionally, the following Wednesday unless an earlier time can be arranged.
5. Projection Procedure Changes/Discussion
Projectionists must clean the plate and puck of the platter before/after using.
6. Making-up Training
Since we have had an increasing number of digital films it seems that trainees aren’t getting thorough training in making up films and there are some gaps in their knowledge of the making up process. Georgie will look at introducing a new training session (ATS3?) in which trainees are run through the different aspects of making up a film in one session and perhaps are given a snaps style reel to run through so they get to see some of the more severe examples of damaged film. This session will include explanations of footers, headers, cue dots, aspect ratios, sound formats, splicing, lab splices, damage, racking and anything else people can think of even remotely related to making up.
7. Time and Date of next meeting
The next meeting shall most likely be on Monday 4th March 2013 at 18:10 in the SSL.
