DM Meeting Minutes: Tuesday, 1 May 2007

1. Welcome and apologies
DMs present: James McLachlan, Robert Gardner, George Marshall, Pierre Schramm
Trainee DM present: Helen Coe
Apologies: Eleanor Hutchinson, Mike Joy, Nick March, Richard Winskill
2. Rotas
The early show of Babel requires a DM.
3. Examinations
The availability of DMs during the exam season was recorded.
George and Pierre's exams are particularly noteworthy:
George – none
Pierre – of no consequence to WSC
4. Qualifications
Helen's qualification will be scheduled for the Sunday showing of Rocky Balboa (Week 4). James, Robert, George, Pierre and Rachel can attend.
Eleanor will probably not qualify this term because she has only DMed six shows.
Matt Pusey has DMed eleven shows and so could qualify this term.
5. Date of next meeting
It was decided that there will be a meeting on Tuesday, 8 May 2007 (Week 3).
6. AOB
(i) After an IP address conflict last week, the master till now works. IT Services are looking into the problem.
(ii) Smokin' Aces was George's hundredth show as DM. There was a shutdown during the film. Airplane! was James' hundredth show as DM. There were three shutdowns during the film. James Cotton was the projectionist on both occasions. George believes that both shows were sabotaged; or it could just be a coincidence.
(iii) Reviewers of this term's films are entitled to free films but these are not on the system. Until this is resolved, reviewers should be given crew guest tickets.
