Minutes of the Warwick Student Cinema (WSC) Executive Committee meeting held on Thursday 22nd October (Term 1, Week 3)

Present: Phil Beckett (Chief Projectionist), Jonatan Benarroch (Films Officer), Reece Goodall (Vice-President; minutes), Giles Hutchings (Treasurer), Richard Kirk (Marketing Officer), Joe Lacey (Events & Socials Coordinator), Lorraine Li (President; chair), Alex Pointon (Technical Officer), Emma Smith (Publicity Officer), Joel Speed (IT Officer)

1. Welcome and Apologies
Apologies were received from Anjana Radhakrishnan (Chief Duty Manager)
2. Sponsored Event
There was a discussion about what food to offer on the night – there will be sweets before the screening, and cake afterwards, to be bought from Costco. Juice and water will also be purchased.
The stewards and crew will be invited to dress as zombies for the show – some shirts will be bought.
3. Allnighter
A unanimous vote decided that the line-up will be as follows: Minions, Ted 2, Hitman: Agent 47, the mystery film, American Ultra and The Rock – the exact timings will be decided on Discourse. Child.org will by the sponsored charity for the night, and £1 a ticket will be donated to them. There will be a quiz on the night – it will be discussed on Discourse.
There was a vote on making ticket prices £5 (crew), £9 (member), £12.50 (non-member) and £15 (external) – it was passed (f:8, a:1, abs:0).
4. Programming Meeting
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, week 5, at 13:00, with a location to be confirmed. Jonatan will update the crew page, and it will be mentioned in the members email.
5. Time and date of next meeting
The next exec meeting is provisionally to take place on Thursday, week 5, at 13:00.
6. AOB
i) Lorraine has been working on a new version of the sponsorship pack – it will be put on Discourse for the exec to look at.
ii) A potential sponsorship opportunity has arisen – Reece will check with the SU in case of a conflict of interest.
iii) Leaders of teams are to add freshers to the crew group.
iv) There was a vote over whether the society should have booklets in the next two terms – it was passed (f:8, a:0, abs:1).
v) Jonatan reminded everyone about the Student Cinema conference – it will take place on Saturday, week 6, and several exec members have expressed interest in going.
vi) There will be a pub run on Wednesday, week 4, at 15:00, followed by a social.
