DM Meeting Minutes: 27 April 2006

1. Examinations
The availability of the DMs during the exam period was recorded, and there should be no problems covering shows.
2. Rotas
The empty DM slots in Weeks 3 and 4 can be filled by James M. if no other DMs sign up.
3. Laptops
The situation with the Front of House laptops was explained:
Windows does not start successfully on the laptops because the Union are probably trying to update Symantec Antivirus 9 to Symantec Antivirus 10 automatically, a process that does not work very well from the ports on the science concourse. However, Windows will start successfully when there is no network connection to the laptops (i.e. when the network cable is unplugged). At each show, the network cable will need to be plugged in after Windows starts. For each laptop to discover the IP address, double click the "Fix Network" icon on the desktop of each laptop. The DM can proceed normally from here.
Ultimately, Windows needs to be reinstalled on the laptops to optimise them for Front of House use.
4. Future DM meetings
It was decided that DM meetings this term will be held fortnightly if necessary; the time and date of each meeting will be determined on DM listings.
5. AOB
(i) Robert encouraged all those present to go to Rachel's house party on Saturday.
(ii) James M. has been to the till roll shop and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
(iii) A brief football discussion - Mark disapproves of the FA's offering Luiz Felipe Scolari the England manager's post.
