DM meeting Tuesday 14th February 2017

1. Welcome and apologies:

Apologies: Anjana, Chris
• Biscuits will be used as an incentive by the new CDM to come to meetings. If you were not present at the previous week’s meeting, you will not be entitled to a biscuit in the next meeting. Therefore make sure you come along to meetings regularly if you want a biscuit!

• CDM to email central timetabling about popcorn, and booking L4/L5 for crew

• Please can all DMs push the all-nighter through social channels.
• Matt to show Caleb blue tick box for online collection
• CDM to confirm with IT that the relevant tick option is available on our system
• CDM to email stewards about attending, to increase ticket sales.
4. AOBs:
• CDM has cleared the DM & till cupboards
• CDM has replaced broken doorstop
• A sign prohibiting popcorn, alcohol and hot food/drink is to be trialled at the tills for 2 weeks. This sign will be kept under the tills and is to be affixed to the middle till cupboard during ticket sales. The sign will be returned to the cupboard at the end of ticket sales, to prevent damage.
• Please can DMs monitor the presence of any popcorn spillages in L3 to see if the new sign is having a negative effect
• KPMG branded signs to be discarded, along with damaged banners
• Please discourage stewards from pre-stamping loyalty cards
• IT has suggested that not selecting the 2nd show setup option: “Allow WSC EPOS system to query the union database for socs fed membership information?” (The one which governs the appearance of the ‘yellow box’) will allow the tills to run faster. Please remind stewards to push membership sales however
• During the midnight showing of “The Blair witch project” a customer went into the office to retrieve confiscated alcohol. They were stopped, but please be vigilant of this in future
• CDM has asked the new IT officer Benji to become involved with stewarding, so that IT are more aware of any till issues. Ideally we would like to train Benji as a DM, but he has expressed interest in becoming a projectionist. CDM will offer him a ‘shadow show’ tailing a DM to try and sway him.
• The Publicity Officer asks DMs to contact them if the week’s publicity is running low
• The Publicity Officer asks for posters to be rolled if you find yourself with spare time in the office
• The IT team requests that the USBs at the tills not be swapped as this creates printing issues. The pre-existing issue should now be fixed, so there should no longer be any need to continue this practise. Please inform trainees of the change.
• Alex asks that DMs don’t put notes in coin bags
• Alex asks DMs to please check numbers are actually correct on banking slips
• CDM to monitor the free film allowance of stewards, following recent issues
