DM Meeting Minutes: Tuesday, 16 October 2007

1. Welcome and apologies

2. Rotas
There are plenty of shows free for DMs this week and next.
3. Qualification
Matt's qualification show will be the 6.30 pm Ocean's Thirteen (Friday, Week 5).
4. EPOS System
Improvements have been made to EPOS Version 2 in the past week, but testing at shows has revealed further problems. Tim is working on these.
5. AOB
(i) Andrew raised the issue of a recent query with the Union by someone who was adamant that she had purchased Socs Fed and WSC membership at the 9.30 pm showing of 300. According to the Union's records, the transaction was never completed. Andrew feels that situations such as this could be avoided if new stewards received training in best practice for the tills. This could simply involve the DM taking ten minutes before the show to explain the EPOS system, the Union membership system and the way the cash is organised. Further to this, the DM should ensure that open transactions in the Union system are deleted before closing the till.
(ii) There will be a social to see Black Sheep on Monday (Week 4). We shall meet at 7.00 pm in the Sutherland Staff Lounge or at The Bar. All are welcome.
(iii) In an effort to encourage new stewards to go to the bar after shows, Robert suggested that the crew head to the bar immediately and leave the DM to cash up if necessary. This used to happen and there is no reason for not returning to this practice.
(iv) George will start the questionnaire drive soon. The DM should put the box(es) on display if George is not around.
