Summary of IT work and what needs to be done infrastructure-wise:
Docker swarm filesystem (GlusterFS) seems to be fixed - need to monitor and re-add another node to bring it back to five.
Update mail server and mailman.
Update Debian operating system on servers as only one year remaining of Buster LTS.
Update EPOS pyunion to Python 3.
Update mediawiki auth plugin.
New website:
Would be nice to coincide with 50th anniversary.
Likely to just work on customer front-facing things first.
Try to retain existing database structure so other systems (e.g. EPOS) aren’t affected.
Help is needed:
Ethan can help with designs. Does not have remote access but could use Figma online. Free over July.
Arun can help with development - knows React, NextJS and NodeJS, not as experienced with PHP. Generally does more backend. Not yet on Slack or Discourse, so needs to be added. Fairly busy over Summer but should be free early next year.
Stack is likely to be a React frontend, perhaps a PHP Laravel backend or a NodeJS backend.
