Ratatouille – 20/06/2023

It was a saga. Most of it is in the show report. I think the preset on the SDDS processor was wrong as we moved to the CP500 and the SDDS thing says CP650. So after a few stop and starts it was fixed.
A huddle with Kieran happened.

BandSoc Documentary – 21/06/2023
Q-Proj: Eric
Was sent to us quite late, so did not manage to test it until 5 minutes before it was going to be shown. As a result, it was quite quiet due to poor mixing and fader was bumped it up to 7.5. It could've been louder, but we left it.

LL: Slay.
DK: Slay? Uh yeah? Good stuff, couple of changeovers were too slow because there were a million cue dots, some ends of reels were not destroyed, but not great. Mostly good.
LL: Better to changeover quicker to not show the "fucked up splicey ends". Probably something to note in the making up book when making up. Two reels had really fucked up Dolby Digital, but the others were fine. Dropped down to SR.

4. Tech Officer's Report
- Tech Officer has submitted his PhD! Round of applause.
- One of the surrounds seems to be dead. That is unfortunate.
- Exciting vote to the exec that should be voted on.
- A multimeter was poked into the iLight controller. It has sensible voltages now.
- The CP500 has been reinstalled as it sounds less aggressively shrill. Work to investigate why is ongoing.
5. Proj Procedure Changes
- Going forwards, 35mm trainee projectionists should write up show reports with their Q-proj immediately after the show -- this is as show reports are quite useful as a debrief and process.
- On shows where there are letters to the projectionist about flashing lights, please tell the DM as soon as possible on the show. This is as a set of standard WSC signs warning customers of flashing lights are being made for DMs to use. If there is a TDM and a QDM, tell the TDM -- they should ideally both be present anyways.
- Projectionists can now expect DMs to ALWAYS ask if they are ready to let people in; this is more useful for trainee shows where something minor has been broken, for example, masking set to X-Wide with slides on. If the Q-proj is not expecting for things to be broken on the show, they can tell the DM that they can let people in as soon as slides are on and music is playing.
6. AOB
- LL: We have done some 35mm practice shows, which is something we talked about ages ago. Daniel and Zuzanna have done one and Eric has one next week. I think they were useful? DK nods head. ZC also confirms.
- JH: Shakes head. I'll take a picture of you for the new website.

- MM: No. Shakes head.
- JP: You're doing very well. Thank you.
- KH: Can I second James' appreciation of the Chief Projectionist?
- KH: Does anyone have any idea what happened to Sparks (DTS sound trailer)? It is a bit destroyed, so either the projector is destroying the film, a 35mm qualified projectionist is doing something that is destroying film, or someone not 35mm qualified has decided to have a joyful look through the cupboards. Last time it was used on Alien (when Liv was a trainee) and it did not look like that then. It looks like it has been on the floor as it has emulsion scratches.
* MK: Has not touched it.
* KH: It is important we know _why_ what has happened to Sparks has happened, not just grumpy in Slack.
- KH: My straw has failed.
- MK: I was going to give you more appreciation for Ratatouille.
- EL: Happy birthday Hashir!
- Hashir was huddled for 1 minute. Hashir commented that everyone is so nice and will see us all tomorrow.
