Editors meeting
1) Welco..
Present: George, Matt. P, Aiden, Rob, Martin
2) Status
Titles:
10 titles are left, all of which are quite difficult. Titles such as Assassination of Jesse James and Stardust are difficult to cutout from their background. Titles like St. Trinians and Les Triplettes de Belleville are difficult to find in high resolution.
There were suggestions for solving some of the problems with the titles:
i) The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford might be cut down to The Assassination of Jesse James to fit on the poster
ii) The English title might be used for Les Triplettes de Belleville as it is easier to find.
iii) Matt recommended the St. Trinians official website for a title for it.
Images:
All the films now have images with St. Trinians being the only film with notably poorer images. Matt will create greyscale, 300dpi tif versions of all the images soon.
Reviews:
All but 1 of the reviews have been assigned. The deadline for submission is Friday.
The Deadline for the completion of the publicity is likely to be the end of week 10 but this needs to be confirmed by George.
3) Plan
Matt, Aiden and George will work on laying out the publicity.
George will do the A2 posters and A4 fliers.
The booklet will be split into sets of three weeks. Aiden will do weeks1-3, Matt will do weeks 4-6 and George will do weeks 7-9. Week 10 will be done by whoever is finished first.
George will show Matt and Aiden how to layout a page in the booklet later in the week.
4) AOB
i) Rob requested more time for proof reading. Although this may be difficult it should be possible to give people more warning when proofing will need to be done.
ii) Rob asked whether it would be possible to include the exec election in the publicity.
iii) Rob declared that 1 is not a prime number
iv) Congratulations to George for allowing everyone to make their AOB points before ending the meeting and for his unconventional welco..
v) The date for the next editors meeting was enquired about. Maybe next year.
vi) An update on the publicity computer was requested.
vii) The unofficial nature of this meeting (due to the editors committee not appearing in the constitution) was noted
viii) Rob was given the position of Titles Coordinator by a unanimous indicative vote. He will from now on help the Publicity Officer ensure that all films have titles.
ix) Aiden was was given the position of Chief Editor with 3 votes for and 1 abstention. He will help the publicity officer with some of the admin involved with the editors and help cover some of the weekly publicity that isn't done by other editors.
x) Everyone was very impressed by Matt's images assignment page.
